There was an AMAZING turnout. I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures! Hopefully I'll have some to show off soon, but in the meantime...I'll introduce you to one of the girls I debuted at the show!<br />

This particular group of friendly souls live in the open spaces of Long Island's east end. I love going on my road trips to see them, and the land, and the trees...<br />

Well...to make a long story short, the school thing is officially a no go. Decided to spend that money on my business and the personal endeavors I've got in the works, which I will DEFINITELY be keeping you up on.</span><br />
<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"><br />
</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;">...I also got into a really horrible car accident 11 days after I moved back to my hometown. I (thankfully) am alive and kicking! Recovering and taking all that comes with it...including a complete re-evaluation of who I am and what I want from this life. So, what is that, you may ask?</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"><br />
</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;">Well, I can say that I've done a lot of half-hearted, floaty artist things...but everything that has happened to me has placed me squarely back inside my body, and made me ultra-focused on my goals. I've spent the last eight months having to think long and hard about those goals. I can tell you guys that I have a lot of things all laid out and I will bring them to life...and hopefully if all goes relatively well you will all be involved...but that, my dears...is a whole other post. So excited! :))</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"><br />
</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;">P.S. Even BIGGER things are poppin' now! You'll never believe where I'm hanging out on Wednesday...</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"><br />
</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"><br />

To blog a whole lot more! ...but besides that, I've been working like a Christmas elf to try to get a sort of balance in all this creative madness. So, I've finally finished my Grad School project which has turned into my new full fledged obsession...sculpture! I'm surprisingly very adept to sculpting although I haven't done it in years. I decided to take a bold step (for me) and present a figure-heavy portfolio. I'm hoping they go for it. Personally I'm in love with all my girls. They were based off of the women created fro the <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35286777">GINNIP 2010 Calendar</a>, but they morphed into something much bigger. I plan to load up my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/gordonica">Gordonica</a> shop with some sculpted lovelies soon, but in the meantime, say hello...</span><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWAZlufmm5xgZMtgp5FlF9ciPhf_3AG-ObgSmCVuXdIdPiRksvHFxWXl8kpFqhGPEUgO8hqp1zz759ekE28icTh9ZKe61M-7kA9C-JRyYHxBDifMBJN_LXCP6aHgL2hWwMjKDZ8GUPC4Bi/s1600-h/OracleofSeddaiSm.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 259px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWAZlufmm5xgZMtgp5FlF9ciPhf_3AG-ObgSmCVuXdIdPiRksvHFxWXl8kpFqhGPEUgO8hqp1zz759ekE28icTh9ZKe61M-7kA9C-JRyYHxBDifMBJN_LXCP6aHgL2hWwMjKDZ8GUPC4Bi/s320/OracleofSeddaiSm.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424500240675667762" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhODH6ahnMZXKDMEgCh4Pz8-5QOBoY8K1EL4pycmWHFLrrQ0HNMLv89oHRuys4SeUO9Fg-Czf3espxcK2y5qv1aSVi4OgRMk4mPMaOxc4EypC6L-RGFYccMqZU6cVSXp66k7A02Hbb1E5_s/s1600-h/OracleofSeddaiFrntSm.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhODH6ahnMZXKDMEgCh4Pz8-5QOBoY8K1EL4pycmWHFLrrQ0HNMLv89oHRuys4SeUO9Fg-Czf3espxcK2y5qv1aSVi4OgRMk4mPMaOxc4EypC6L-RGFYccMqZU6cVSXp66k7A02Hbb1E5_s/s320/OracleofSeddaiFrntSm.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424500120330163986" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPYtyAQNJqujr9KJq658Y3kVIpZ5ZAmH5WTov9wG2blx-WWCB8TU-NLXDzGnn9v7LzyizQOp8X6VT7n3drMTB9hmfYdxc6suFbB70FSMamIZvawhXESyfdZV_i9w5_sB61V3Kj5z3-oHJX/s1600-h/LadyDennaiFrntsm.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 203px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPYtyAQNJqujr9KJq658Y3kVIpZ5ZAmH5WTov9wG2blx-WWCB8TU-NLXDzGnn9v7LzyizQOp8X6VT7n3drMTB9hmfYdxc6suFbB70FSMamIZvawhXESyfdZV_i9w5_sB61V3Kj5z3-oHJX/s320/LadyDennaiFrntsm.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424501074621285746" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7WXknInuGFnKzDTi42zNvukVxmUGOGaT_sKipUaw6lj6QXsj6aDCzATKEjTn2umGRBzMPf7hwiX2Pe-fBeVxpSK2mms1tFpQHw69f6aLImlrvvX2zo8CUA7eGbHnNn24EJxTTHa1kxXhc/s1600-h/LadyDennaiDetailsm.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7WXknInuGFnKzDTi42zNvukVxmUGOGaT_sKipUaw6lj6QXsj6aDCzATKEjTn2umGRBzMPf7hwiX2Pe-fBeVxpSK2mms1tFpQHw69f6aLImlrvvX2zo8CUA7eGbHnNn24EJxTTHa1kxXhc/s320/LadyDennaiDetailsm.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424501363251104770" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-family:verdana;">For the next few days I'm taking a bit of a break, but come Monday...I'll be working on the sculptures. Well, the summer caught up to me BIG TIME! Too much lounging, chilling, vacationing all while <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">acquiring</span> an ill-fated 9 to 5. Now, I've decided to go back to grad school so I can pass my infinite knowledge on to future generations! So, in addition to all the new goodies I've been working on for the shop I now have to wow the admissions review board...and I'm probably moving back to Brooklyn. A lot, I know...but it's just another day in the life of an artist with too many ideas and not enough time. ...and on that note, I'm off to spend the next six hours in front of my computer. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Yessssss</span>...K. I'm working on new ideas and products for the shop, as well as a book, or two...or three! Yes! You heard me right! I will most definitely be self-publishing...because I'm impatient...but I also plan to shop them around to publishers. I do live in New York...maybe I know someone who knows someone who knows someone...<br /><br />...but all work and no fun does not a happy Kimmy make! Fourth time guys...but guess what? I'm still a Mac. Why you ask? ...it's like asking why you're a brunette. You just are. It's in your blood! Well, I've got my baby back home now and it's time to put a LOT of stuff in order! Won't be much longer now! P.S. More shows this weekend...trips to Williamsburg and Long Island in the works...pics to come!<br /></span>K. The irony is through my being over productive in real life, I have actually taken longer than I would like to fill you guys in on the doings and happenings! I just spent 3 hours on the couch in a LOST coma, and I'm ready to rejoin the world of the living.<br /><br />Ok, so...updates!<br /><br />A really good friend of mine is moving back to town and is very excited to see my work in person. I'm pretty sure he's on the way to becoming a loved patron...and I can't wait to get his girlfriend on board with my artiness!<br /><br />The lil' Ginnips are STILL being sewn together as it's taken me forever and a day to get my craft area together...but hey, at least I've gotten the sewing machine off the floor and onto the actual craft table! HA!<br /><br />...and I will have pics of the fine art pieces I've started up real real soon. Real real soon.<br /><br />In the meantime...enjoy some scenic shots of Long Island City overlooking the East River. It's so beautiful you almost forget it's the East River. HA!<br /><br /></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnwLevHxSe-veF3asuOC-eTQIDkMBPKhCX6MsIv5_c7xcEhq-KjvflfmlY7-m_1qdWFfwCAMGM_sZN5w6qU1zDhqu6RJHd4STt1fNSUS06trt07RQ0cAEqXAVb01CFYjVRg02AUsncOUOH/s1600-h/LIC3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnwLevHxSe-veF3asuOC-eTQIDkMBPKhCX6MsIv5_c7xcEhq-KjvflfmlY7-m_1qdWFfwCAMGM_sZN5w6qU1zDhqu6RJHd4STt1fNSUS06trt07RQ0cAEqXAVb01CFYjVRg02AUsncOUOH/s320/LIC3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335520021942944882" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOPqMI0UUpNtT9QDn_2KVIjdaug950WwGBb3VRL1Zmi9u3bmTTFhw7IGbRvmLFcxnNEnwDtMwkc602IGn-Y5h-wgLcGw49QtJLGXBikXQs7XTCuSVUaVrd2fMq1zKkcv1wCNW6X9z6rRko/s1600-h/LIC2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOPqMI0UUpNtT9QDn_2KVIjdaug950WwGBb3VRL1Zmi9u3bmTTFhw7IGbRvmLFcxnNEnwDtMwkc602IGn-Y5h-wgLcGw49QtJLGXBikXQs7XTCuSVUaVrd2fMq1zKkcv1wCNW6X9z6rRko/s320/LIC2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335519874349351570" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6_XOnva2wF__q-jvEbZxAqunRG5q3xN9FeNTnr3dDwJ1uYgyfzuWw1XbozuBD7bNF8zwHUYHaPGptOu3VJVu-r1GmIu4m4ctHv1ch-RxQrJm2v_9Qu3gxXHs7Hd4JjT5HV29C_VGQYEk-/s1600-h/LIC1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6_XOnva2wF__q-jvEbZxAqunRG5q3xN9FeNTnr3dDwJ1uYgyfzuWw1XbozuBD7bNF8zwHUYHaPGptOu3VJVu-r1GmIu4m4ctHv1ch-RxQrJm2v_9Qu3gxXHs7Hd4JjT5HV29C_VGQYEk-/s320/LIC1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335519721779542498" border="0" /></a><span style="font-family:verdana;"><br />Happy Wednesday!<br /></span>K. Ravaged by allergies and working nonetheless! I just had my first art market, the Astoria Spring Fling Market...and I did pretty well! Some eager customers went home with little GINNIP goodies all their own and I was so happy to be able to meet my customers face to face. If I could do this every weekend, I would! Actually...that's the new plan! I'm gonna try to hit the show circuit and spread the word about GINNIP! Here are some pics from the show...<br /><br /></span><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:verdana;">This picture features my friend and lovely assistant Mayo, who is an amazing artist himself!</span><br /></div><span style="font-family:verdana;"><br /></span><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgErBYlRs_Vcoczc_fVT7dcFtdHT1mS_DrcwVVpgvVLv3eB-7NbOxGJ9Z2aSCVfh8lWyu3emmT4Gz4380DkTB6Q_4GrR9RaksbUKUvJPy4YkOiobABwx-Cg860Srh1CrukqT2Cbx-iT1zKi/s1600-h/SpringFling1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 198px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgErBYlRs_Vcoczc_fVT7dcFtdHT1mS_DrcwVVpgvVLv3eB-7NbOxGJ9Z2aSCVfh8lWyu3emmT4Gz4380DkTB6Q_4GrR9RaksbUKUvJPy4YkOiobABwx-Cg860Srh1CrukqT2Cbx-iT1zKi/s320/SpringFling1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332715835321145922" border="0" /></a><span style="font-family:verdana;"></span><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh78iVLbctCVnygyrRs3eZLSUOfo0ezT-J6fNciAoRc4G5VCtfLHqdhSNawQGPP5XIgJ8f6YhvNIy1247pCrKtQGB_ge-x9LbR6xL_TKcq34tYKnOSR6g8XjT7vWwSR9LzV79Kn_ZtT_Ycc/s1600-h/SpringFling2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 170px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh78iVLbctCVnygyrRs3eZLSUOfo0ezT-J6fNciAoRc4G5VCtfLHqdhSNawQGPP5XIgJ8f6YhvNIy1247pCrKtQGB_ge-x9LbR6xL_TKcq34tYKnOSR6g8XjT7vWwSR9LzV79Kn_ZtT_Ycc/s320/SpringFling2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332715715779912210" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ktPtSMrIHhqqY0kwSCGxYG2V98WXDjlX7_Er0B7Pko0X58RoJystSPFA23NAX00VBxbhGL7zbPyv40J5miRqA8vetHmkzNKnStjfzXrPSf3fy-TZGegyCHVOZr_iG-Vu9LQ2HPmXB8YD/s1600-h/SpringFling3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ktPtSMrIHhqqY0kwSCGxYG2V98WXDjlX7_Er0B7Pko0X58RoJystSPFA23NAX00VBxbhGL7zbPyv40J5miRqA8vetHmkzNKnStjfzXrPSf3fy-TZGegyCHVOZr_iG-Vu9LQ2HPmXB8YD/s320/SpringFling3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332715595973956082" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-family:verdana;">I can say there is no better feeling that getting the reaction of customers face to face. I'm off to the </span><a style="font-family: verdana;" href="http://www.apple.com/retail/fifthavenue/">Mac Store</a><span style="font-family:verdana;"> on 5th Avenue today to have a "Genius" tell me what the dilly is. Hopefully it's a free fix...but either way I probably won't have my comp for a whole week! What shall I do! I have quite a few Moleskines to list...and cute lil' magnets too! *pfft* I guess it'll all have to wait till I get the comp back. I have to say that this movie appealed to me in every sense possible. I was left wanting nothing. Some criticized Brad Pitt's supposed lack of emotion, but I understood his approach to the part of Benjamin. There's a kind of sadness and depth that he injects into the role, and after seeing the whole movie through, you understand why. It all comes together beautifully, and is based out of beautiful New Orleans. This movie, to me, is a win/ win situation. I wholeheartedly recommend! *sniffle, sniffle...*</span></div>K.
