Eastern Connections

Although I love being close enough to NYC to enjoy it's delights and opportunities on a whim, I also like being able to spend time with my eastern connections. This particular group of friendly souls live in the open spaces of Long Island's east end. I love going on my road trips to see them, and the land, and the trees...

Aaaaah. Lovely.

Well, well, well...

Let's just say life can change dramatically over the course of (almost) a year...for me at least! Well...to make a long story short, the school thing is officially a no go. Decided to spend that money on my business and the personal endeavors I've got in the works, which I will DEFINITELY be keeping you up on.

...I also got into a really horrible car accident 11 days after I moved back to my hometown. I (thankfully) am alive and kicking! Recovering and taking all that comes with it...including a complete re-evaluation of who I am and what I want from this life. So, what is that, you may ask?

Well, I can say that I've done a lot of half-hearted, floaty artist things...but everything that has happened to me has placed me squarely back inside my body, and made me ultra-focused on my goals. I've spent the last eight months having to think long and hard about those goals. I can tell you guys that I have a lot of things all laid out and I will bring them to life...and hopefully if all goes relatively well you will all be involved...but that, my dears...is a whole other post. So excited! :))

P.S. Even BIGGER things are poppin' now! You'll never believe where I'm hanging out on Wednesday...

Big Things Poppin'

New Years Resolution? To blog a whole lot more! ...but besides that, I've been working like a Christmas elf to try to get a sort of balance in all this creative madness. So, I've finally finished my Grad School project which has turned into my new full fledged obsession...sculpture! I'm surprisingly very adept to sculpting although I haven't done it in years. I decided to take a bold step (for me) and present a figure-heavy portfolio. I'm hoping they go for it. Personally I'm in love with all my girls. They were based off of the women created fro the GINNIP 2010 Calendar, but they morphed into something much bigger. I plan to load up my Gordonica shop with some sculpted lovelies soon, but in the meantime, say hello...

For the next few days I'm taking a bit of a break, but come Monday...I'll be working on the sculptures. Loving the inspiration! Stay tuned...
